Animal Geography & Research
I have a MSc in Geography at Concordia University (2016, Montreal, Canada). My research examined human/animal relationships, specifically "safe spaces." My thesis (under the supervision of Drs. Rosemary Collard and Alan Nash), Safe Spaces? How vegan ideologies shape sanctuaries examined human relationships with non-human animals in sanctuaries.
I graduated with a BA (with honours) in Geography (2013), Concordia University. That same year I founded Roy and Cher's Animal Rescue, a registered not-for-profit organization that assists animals from abuse, neglect and abandonment. Through this endeavour, I am not only interested in the welfare of animals, but also human/animal relationships through TNR (trap-neuter-return) and animal rehabilitation (particularly cats and horses).
While at Concordia, I was a Graduate Student Officer with the Animal Geography Specialty Group, a division of Association of American Geographers.
Master of Science (2016), Concordia University (Montreal), Geography, Urban and Environmental Studies
